Archery at the Castle

The castle grounds offer a wonderful setting for archery contests and the area around Craig-y-Nos Castle has a long tradition of providing top class Welsh bowmen.

Nearby Callwen church yard was a venue for archery training and practice of the local bowmen, who were such a decisive force at the battle of Agincourt.

Today you can still see the old Yew trees from which they made their longbows. We have both great fun and serious competition at our archery contests, which are also very interesting for spectators.

Just ask us about arranging your own archery contest. We can provide the equipment by prior appointment. (Terms and conditions will apply)
