Couldn't
have chosen a better place for our son's wedding. Loved room
27, what a view at night, didn't want to leave. Thank you for a
truly unforgettable time. Would love to do it all over again. |

Our wedding day was simply
perfect from start to finish, and that was due in no small part to
the wedding planners Alison and Claire who worked tirelessly on the
day to ensure everyone (and we mean EVERYONE) was happy. Everyone at
Craig-y-Nos is passionate about the castle, and equally that those
who stay there get to feel that it is as much theirs as anyone's.
The rooms are furnished to a high standard (even some of the lower
priced rooms have genuine period furniture) in an effort to maintain
a level of faithfulness to the fabric of the building itself. With
stunning views from just about every side of the castle, and an
expansive country park next door, breathtaking is one word that is
certainly not wasted here.
Do we like Craig-y-Nos, it's setting, and it's staff? No. We love
it, and them, more than any other place we have stayed (and there
have been a LOT!) If you are looking for somewhere to stay with a
little more than your average hotel, look no further. We're sure
you'll love it too.

It
was my wedding and the Castle was definitely the best place to have
it. All my guests commented on how lovely the Castle was and
the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Nothing was too
much trouble and we really enjoyed our day. I would recommend it to
anyone. Thank you for a really memorable day. |

I cannot reiterate how
fantastic our whole experience was, the food was complimented by
every guest and there was not a single complaint from anyone
during the whole event. I got married at Craig Y Nos in March and it was fantastic-they
allowed me to choose the wedding meals which a lot of places don't,
we settled for a three choice menu which included cray fish and
smoked salmon, local venison, salt marsh lamb, and homemade lemon
tart-all the food was of the highest standard and not one guest had
a single complaint. Ignore the reviews saying it is not a good
place-sure its a little shabby in places but after all is is a
castle and if you want spik and span then go to a modern hotel but
you certainly wouldn't get the same tranquility and romance of this
place, nor the personal touch that the staff give you. |

We
currently live in Ireland now and it was very hard to arrange
everything from over there, however Alison and all the staff made
this really easy for me and accommodated us all the way. Even to the
point of Alison staying on until gone 10pm one night to meet with us
as we were on a flying trip to Wales.Being a Welsh girl I had
visited a number of venues to hold my dream wedding, however I found
a lot of them to be over priced and run by unapproachable, cold
staff!!! We contemplated going away to get married, however we fell
upon Craig y Nos and both myself and Husband fell in love with the
castle and surrounding straight away. Also it brought back a lot of
memories for my husband who used to play around there when he was
young. Our food was perfect my family and husband’s
family thoroughly enjoyed it and we all felt full after our Welsh
feast of Roast beef and welsh cake trifle!! Every one of my
wedding guests has commented on how wonderful everything was and I
urge you to visit the Castle yourself! You won’t be disappointed. |

We
had our wedding at the castle on Saturday 14th April 2007 and it was
the most wonderful day. Alison, the wedding coordinator, was a star
from the moment we first visited the venue and was especially good
with my dad who got a bit emotional on more than one occasion! All
of our guests were enchanted by the venue and a fabulous day was had
by all. We chose the castle for the unique setting but also for the
informal and relaxed atmosphere. We didn't want our wedding to be a
military style procession so we appreciated the quirks and the
down-to-earth friendliness of the place. If you want uniforms then
perhaps the more monochrome surroundings of one of the
UK
's chain hotels might be more up your street. The bridal suite had
an unusual serenity about it - perhaps because it was once Adelina
Patti's chapel. A great place for nervous brides to get ready!

We
got married at craig-y-nos on 31st January 2007 and it was the best
day of our lives. this was all down to the staff at the castle. they
are the most friendly, relaxed, accommodating people, and will do
anything for you. When I first met with the wedding co-ordinators i
was blown away by their professionalism and experience. they gave me
so many ideas for my wedding day, but at the same time allowed me
the freedom to have the day exactly as I wanted it, even down to
putting candles all over the opera theatre (even though it is grade
1 listed!) the theatre is so beautiful and charming; all of my
guests were taken aback by it. it is the most unique place to get
married. My only complaint was that I didn't see any ghosts! |

My Husband and I got married on 21st December
2006 at Craig Y Nos and it was everything I dreamed it would be. All
of my guests have since told me that it was the best setting of
wedding they have been to, as night fell I walked down the aisle
into the theatre, the staff had excelled themselves and decorated
the theatre with twinkling fairy lights and christmas trees, mulled
wine welcomed my guests who admittedly were cold in the theatre but
for such an old building is to be expected. The food was a
traditional cooked dinner which was lovely, and a small buffet later
on was exactly what I wanted. From start to finish Alison the
wedding coordinator did everything that I wanted and there was never
a problem, she was a diamond on the day calming mine and my husband
nerves! The Suite was great, ok so I've stayed in plusher
rooms in other parts of the world but for my wedding day I didn't
want a boring, impersonal function suite in a hotel, I wanted family
and friends to relax in charming surroundings and they sure
did!!!! Sitting by the log fire watching the boys bringing the
logs in from the frosty gardens, we felt a million miles from the
outside world, the staff never rush you out, even at 3 in the
morning when trying to get the Best man and Bridesmaid to drink up
so the staff can go home! |

To
the Management and all the Staff, On behalf of our daughter and new
son in law, Owen and Rebecca Burn ( nee White ) and of ourselves, we
would like to thank you for providing such a wonderful day for the
wedding reception on October 20th. The service was excellent, the
food delicious and the atmosphere of the whole evening was
everything we had hoped for. All our guests commented on the
wonderful environment and we had many who said that this was the
best reception they had attended. I hope that many will return the
satisfaction questionnaire you sent out but, in case they don't I
would like to pass on the following as the most frequent comment we
heard. " Craig Y Nos provides an unparalleled venue for such an
event. In your renovation programme, I hope they do not turn it into
a standard hotel; it was the slight eccentricity which endeared it
to us all." We would like to thank all the staff, from Alyson
and Jason to everyone with whom we came in contact. They all went
that little bit further to make our experience memorable whether it
was serving at table or at the bar, repairing our damaged cake or
offering help to a motorist with no petrol. We felt as if we were
family guests in a country house.

We
had our wedding at Craig-y-Nos Castle and we couldn't have chosen a
better venue! The staff work extremely hard and were always friendly
and happy to help, the food was superb and good value for money and
although some of the accommodation is a little rough around the
edges, what do you expect from an old building which is still being
restored to its former glory!
Compared to the majority of wedding venues we looked at, the wedding
packages and accommodation prices are very reasonable and they are
flexible in meeting your requirements. All of our guests are still
raving about what a special place it was and set in such beautiful
surroundings....and where else can you get married in a Grade One
listed Opera House!! |
