Eating at the Castle in an Off Peak Season
Things to do at the Castle
Dining during our Winter Trading Period - Off Peak Dining
Winter trading B&B only days are Sunday to Wednesday inclusive. Winter Trading Months are October, November, first half of December, and January, February and March. April may also have winter trading days if it is quiet.
An exception is made when we have high occupancy or an advance dinner booking above 10.
Excellent evening meals are always available at our two 'partner pubs'. These are the Ancient Briton which is dog friendly and great for real ale, more pubby standard relaxed dining - a little under 2 miles from the castle. Just one mile south of the castle, there is the Penycae Inn. This is a gastro pub, fine dining, consistently good quality. Dogs here remain on the ground floor only, which has stone floors, so we suggest you bring soft dog bed.
When the Castles Functions rooms and Bars are booked out for Weddings you may not be able to eat at the Castle, especially if the venue is booked exclusively.
However as all our rooms tend to be booked up by guests of the wedding, we rarely have non-wedding guests staying on a wedding day.
If you have booked accommodation with us on a wedding day, you can book a table at a local pub/restaurant here: http://www.craigynoscastle.com/placestoeat-1.htm
As weddings have exclusive use of the public / bar areas, we advise customers to make alternative arrangements at other local restaurants. When you made your booking we would have informed you if a Wedding was booked but you can also can check our wedding bookings availability from the Weddings Tab for the relevant year https://www.craigynoscastleweddings.com/
